ANTISANA TREKKEING 4 DAYS

Itinerary:


Day 01: Quito - Hacienda El Inga - La Dormida

We will depart by jeep in the morning from Quito to the Hacienda El Inga. In this small Indian village we load our gear on horseback and set off toward the valley of La Dormida. We cross a huge Polylepis forest. After a 5-hours walk we will set up our campsite by the river at 3.600 m. -/L/D



Day 02: Antisanilla Mountain - Volcano lake
We will cross a pass of 4.000 m along the Antisanilla mountain and walk towards the next valley, we pass rivers and huge fields of Páramo vegetation. We descend to a volcano-lake and pitch up our camp at 3.500 m. B/L/D

Day 03: Climb Antisana - Volcano Lake

Today we will go uphill in order to reach the high plateau of Antisana. We will admire the variety of flora and fauna of the Andes as well as the lava fields. In the afternoon we establish our camp at Volcano Lake. B/L/D

Day 04: Thermal hot springs of Papallacta - Quito

Early in the morning we will head towards the end of the plateau to catch amazing views of Antisana. We descend toward Papallacta and finally enjoy the thermal springs of this small town. In the afternoon we drive back to Quito. B/L/-

Price 2007:

Included in the price :
Private transportation, English speaking guide, meals according to the itinerary, collective camp equipment such as dining tent, 1 or 2-pers. tents, toilet tent, foam pad, tables, stools, kitchen gear etc., cook, pack animals, entrance national Park, rubber boots, First Aid assistance, our guides are equipped with cell phones in case of emergency.

Not included in the price:
International flight, accommodation and food supply in Quito, personal equipment, tips, and travel insurance.

What to bring with you:
Personal equipment, daypack, backpack, sleeping bag, sun glasses, sun block, rain clothes, torch, hat, trekking shoes, warm clothing, canteen, camera and film (100 ASA).

Note:
Although this is a moderate trek, it could be very hard if you are not properly acclimatized. You need to be ready and prepared to walk on trails as well as on cross-country terrain, marsh and forests.
